Come on out to Loveless Barn on Wednesday and listen to the music of The Boxcars, Pine Hill Haints, David Jacobs-Strain and Ernie Hendrickson. The weekly radio program, hosted by Jim Lauderdale, is broadcast live on WSM, the radio station of the Grand Ole Opry. Speaking of which, periodically even Eddie Stubbs is known to make an appearance and interact with the audience! Its a great night with wonderful music, fun folks and really good eats. Riders Write In From Tuscumbia

As you know, we have an office in Muscle Shoals, AL and we recently drove a trip for the Muscle Shoals Chamber. Two people on that trip have written in and we want to share their comments with you … Bob Nicholas of the Chamber writes us “First Class! That is how we consider our trip to Redstone. Much of it had to do with the bus and driver you furnished. Earl did a great job…” and Teresa Rogers, an Allstate agent who also went on the trip said, “Speaking as one of the 25+ folks from the Shoals that toured Redstone on Wednesday I want to thank you for the use of the wonderful bus and driver … It made our trip so comfortable in the 97 degree temps. Thanks for being a fellow Chamber member.” Our thanks to these two people for letting us know how their trip went and to Earl, our driver, who took such good care of them.

Songwriters Sing for Nashville Tomorrow 7/17

Songwriters fm the Songwriters Hall of Fame will be performing indoors and out tomorrow at different locations at Fontanel Mansion to benefit Flood Relief. Early performances begin at the Farm House Restaurant right there on the property. The concert at The Woods at Fontanel – the gorgeous outdoor venue – begins at 4:30 pm. Food will be available for purchase and you can always arrive early and walk the beautiful trails that outline the property. All proceeds from tours of the mansion and ticket sales for the event benefit flood relief for Nashville area residents still struggling to recover from May’s devastating floods. We were pleased to donate $10,000 to start the fund and make it possible for residents who are in need of assistance to get money immediately. Due to popular demand, the already sold out show of Bo Bice & Gwen Sebastian on Thursday July 22nd is being moved to a larger room at the Muscle Shoals Convention Center to make it possible for more people to attend. 100 more tickets will be on sale tomorrow morning at 10 am and there are two ways to get tickets: Stop by the Kix 96.1 studios at 624 Sam Phillips Street in Florence (across from the Coliseum) OR call 256.764.8121. LPA Conference in Nashville a Success

Under the heading of you just never know who will be in Nashville next, The Little People of America (LPA) conference was here in our city last week bringing 2,200 visitors. A daily itinerary included tours of local attractions, medical clinics to discuss dwarf-specific health issues, nightly dinners and dances, a talent show, athletic competitions, and even a round of speed dating. A massive expo also included hundreds of products to help make daily living easier for the short-statured. Our city accommodated the variety of activities without effort. The LPA, a national nonprofit organization that’s been around since 1957, includes all 200-plus forms of dwarfism, typically caused by a variety of medical conditions. The locations of these meeting are voted on by their members and we are very honored to have been chosen as the location for this year’s event.

Music City Roots Back This Wednesday

After a two week hiatus, Music City Roots will be returning this Wednesday at 7:00 pm with a great line-up of performers including: Sarah Siskind, Frank Fairfield, Futurebirds, Johnny Corndawg, Dexateens and Tristen. Hosted by Jim Lauderdale with appearances by Eddie Stubbs, this old style radio show performed live is the best deal for the dollar – just $10 per ticket and $5 for students with college id. Tickets can be purchased at the music city roots website. Food, beverages and lots of camaraderie are available for you to enjoy in person. If you can’t come out to the barn, you can always listen live on the website or on wsm radio – the home of the Grand Old Opry. Want to grab supper before the show, come out early and grab a bit at the Loveless Cafe, a Nashville tradition.

CMT and Buffet Support the Alabama Shore

CMT Presents Jimmy Buffett & Friends Live From the Gulf Coast, a 90-minute live concert special, will air tomorrow July 11 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CMT. The event, originally planned for July 1 on the beach in Gulf Shores, AL, was rescheduled for July 11 because of concerns about surf conditions resulting from area storms. The event will air live and commercial-free on CMT and will be streamed on CMT.com. The performances will be simulcast live on Radio Margaritaville, available on Sirius Satellite Radio and XM Satellite Radio. This event is intended to bring happy news and a positive focus and financial impact to the residents and businesses of the shores of Alabama.We should all support this great event! For you Parrotheads, a new Margaritaville Cafe restaurant is under construction right here in Music City in downtown Nashville with a planned opening this fall.

Hosting the US Youth Soccer Tournament

The US Youth Soccer National President’s Cup tournament is being held this weekend in Murfreesboro, TN. This tournament is the competitive culmination for US Youth Soccer teams who have advanced from the state to regional to National Presidents Cup level, and will be held July 8-11, at Richard Siegel Soccer Complex. We welcome these talented athletes and their families to middle Tennessee and hope that you have a wonderful visit!

Nashville Offers Magical Venues!

Check this out, this past Saturday this wedding was being set up at the War Memorial in downtown Nashville. The ceremony was outside, drinks on the veranda up top and the reception inside.
