Due to popular demand, the already sold out show of Bo Bice & Gwen Sebastian on Thursday July 22nd is being moved to a larger room at the Muscle Shoals Convention Center to make it possible for more people to attend. 100 more tickets will be on sale tomorrow morning at 10 am and there are two ways to get tickets: Stop by the Kix 96.1 studios at 624 Sam Phillips Street in Florence (across from the Coliseum) OR call 256.764.8121. Speaking of magical venues … just returned from exhibiting at the World Religious Travel Association’s (WRTA) first-ever Travel Ministry Conference at the prestigious Scarritt-Bennett Center here in Nashville. What an inspiring program! We met some very interesting people with whom we look forward to working in the future – it was our privilege to share this morning with such an inspirational group. Nashville Offers Magical Venues!

Check this out, this past Saturday this wedding was being set up at the War Memorial in downtown Nashville. The ceremony was outside, drinks on the veranda up top and the reception inside. The inside of the War Memorial was transformed into a magical place with gorgeous flowers, draping, linens, china and lighting. It was a very lucky bride’s dream come true. DII Football Championship Event a Winner!

Despite the chilly temperatures, the day started with tailgating all around Braly Municipal Stadium for the NCAA D2 Championship Game in Florence, AL this past Saturday. The teams arrived with great fanfare including police escorts. The rain which threatened to put a damper on the day held off, permitting the fly over to take place and the game to remain rain-free until the last few minutes. We were pleased to be able to offer our VIP Coach to NCAA Officials and members of the Police Force as a periodic escape from the elements. In the end, Northwest Missouri State snapped a four-game losing streak in the Division II Football Championship, edging Grand Valley State 30-23 on Saturday at Braly Stadium. Congratulations to both teams for their tremendous performances, to Wayne State (Mich.) University senior running back Joique Bell who claimed the Harlon Hill Trophy Friday as the 2009 Division II College Football Player of the Year and to Shannon Sharpe who was inducted in the the D2 Football Hall of Fame. What a tremendous event this was and Anchor Tours is honored to be a Platinum Sponsor and to be a part of all the festivities.

Anchor Tours at NCAA Div II Championship

Long-time Shoals-based business, Anchor Tours is pleased to be the official transportation sponsor of the NCAA Division II Championships being played in Florence, AL. The competing teams are Grand Valley State and Northwest Missouri State and they will meet up on Saturday at Braly Municipal Stadium, the home field of the University of Northern Alabama (UNA). The events kick off (no pun intended) this evening, 12/10, with an informal supper, leading to a breakfast of locals and those in the know at a favorite area haunt in the morning (including chocolate gravy), a VIP/Sponsors lunch on Friday, and the Harlon Hill Supper Friday night. This special evening event includes the induction of former Savannah State standout, and current CBS NFL Today football analyst, Shannon Sharpe into the Division II Hall of Fame. The teams are in town practicing, strategizing and basking in the excitement. They are being transported about town aboard the Anchor Tours motorcoaches. NCAA dignitaries, coach spouses and other event VIPs can also be seen riding the Anchor Tours Executive Coach. All activities culminate in the nationally-televised championship game on Saturday. What a great time to be here in Florence, AL!

Clarksville Extreme Makeover Airs This Sunday!

Anyone who worked on or was involved with the Clarksville, TN Extreme Makeover Home Edition build in October, will want to tune in to ABC this Sunday night at 7:00 pm to see the show. The Anchor Trailways & Tours team will be joining our travel partners at the Clarksville Hilton Garden Inn where the whole crew stayed to watch the show and share experiences from the weeklong event. We look forward to seeing how they bring the week of filming together in one hour! We will spend that night enjoying the show and wondering where Dennis, Steven and all the cast and crew we met that week are now, bringing magic to yet another family!
