Preservationists View Nashville’s History & Heritage
October 14-17, Music City came alive with Anchor Trailways & Tours motorcoaches transporting attendees of the 2009 National Preservation Conference. The event was held by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, a private non-profit organization focused on saving historic places and revitalizing communities. A number of Nashville landmarks were visited by this group including The Factory at Franklin, just south of the city, and a candlelight tour of East Nashville, a neighborhood that has been beaten down by fire, flood, and urban renewal, in that order, and yet lives and thrives today as a tribute to Nashville’s history and heritage.
