Gas and air travel prices soared this year, the stocks fluctuated rapidly and company after company declared bankruptcy. Yet, there was one company that conquered the struggle every other company seemed to experience.
Anchor Trailways & Tours, and other motorcoach companies, saw an increased ridership which will hopefully continue throughout 2009. The family-owned company celebrated its 20th Anniversary during their significant growth.
Motorcoaches seemed to be the perfect model of affordable and green thinking transportation in the time of crisis. Anchor Trailways & Tours has been providing a comfortable, stress-free ride for 20 years. “When my uncle founded the company, he had a vision of offering safe, cost-effective, reliable transportation for groups of people in his home state of Tennessee and surrounding areas, while supporting the greater Nashville community. In our 20th year, our company is comprised primarily of Nashville natives and we all continue to support his visions and values,” said Jared Stancil, Vice President of Anchor Trailways & Tours.
Anchor Trailways & Tours was able to hire four new office staff as well as two new maintenance positions in order to increase the service provided for our customers. The company was also able to increase the fleet to an even 80 buses, including executive buses with wireless internet, kitchen and satellite radio.
